Code of Conduct

By attending the Rainbow Ventures Summit, you agree to abide by this code of conduct at both in person events and in online spaces (Slack, email, etc).

 

The Rainbow Ventures Summit is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and planning committee members.  We believe that everyone deserves to feel respected and valued.  Following this Code of Conduct creates a positive experience for everyone.

 

Our Commitment

 

We are dedicated to creating a space that fosters diversity, equity, inclusion, and mutual respect. We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or exclusionary behavior of any kind.

 

Expected Behavior

 

All participants are expected to:

  • Treat others with respect and kindness, regardless of their race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, age, religion, national origin, lived experiences, socioeconomic status, veteran status, or any other characteristic.

  • Actively include others by using inclusive language and fostering an environment where everyone feels welcome to participate.

  • Engage constructively by being mindful of the tone and content of your communications.

  • Comply with instructions from event staff, particularly regarding accessibility accommodations and health and safety measures.

 

Unacceptable Behavior

 

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment in any form, including but not limited to offensive comments, deadnaming, intentional misgendering, deliberate intimidation, stalking, unwanted physical contact, or unwelcome advances.

  • Discrimination or exclusion based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.

  • Disruptive behavior that interferes with sessions, speakers, or other participants’ ability to engage in the event.

  • Inappropriate use of content shared at the event, including non-consensual photography, recording, or dissemination of private conversations.

 

If you receive a warning to stop unacceptable behavior, you are expected to comply immediately.

Reporting and Enforcement

 

If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately. You can:

 

We take all reports seriously and will act promptly to address any concerns, which may include warnings, expulsion from the event, or other actions.  


Your report will be kept strictly confidential.  When we receive a report, we will review what happened and document the resolution.
