Rainbow Ventures Summit
DEI & Accessibility Commitment
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Rainbow Ventures Summit is committed to fostering a safe, affirming, and welcoming environment for the LGBTQ+ community and all of its wonderful diversity. We understand that the intersectionality of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, and other identities enriches our conversations and strengthens our collective impact. We are intentional about creating a space where no one feels excluded or “othered.” Everyone is encouraged to bring their full, authentic selves to the table.

We stand firmly against discrimination of any kind, including but not limited to race, age, disability, socioeconomic background, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender expression, marital status, religion, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, physical appearance, veteran status, or any other aspect of identity.

What We’re Doing to Create an Inclusive Experience:
-
We use inclusive language to foster belonging.
-
We curate speakers and sessions that represent a wide range of perspectives and lived experiences.
-
We ensure accessibility throughout our event, making it welcoming for all attendees.
-
We actively seek feedback to continuously improve and evolve our inclusivity efforts.

Funding by the Community, For the Community
The Rainbow Ventures Summit is made possible through the generosity of community donations. We are deeply grateful to the individuals and organizations that share our vision of creating an inclusive, empowering space. These contributions allow us to provide a high-quality event at no cost to attendees, ensuring that financial barriers do not limit participation. We remain committed to keeping this conference free and accessible for everyone, and we invite our community to continue supporting this mission through donations or sponsorship.

Accessibility
We are committed to creating an inclusive conference that is accessible to as many people as possible. We believe that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to engage, learn, and contribute fully to the conference experience. If you need specific accommodations, contact techequalsadmin@techbirmingham.com and we will do our best to make it happen.
What We’re Doing to Create an Accessible Experience:
-
Venue Accessibility: We prioritize finding a location that has wheelchair access and accessible parking options.
-
Dietary Accommodations: We offer a variety of meal options that consider dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences.
-
Quiet Spaces: Designated quiet areas are available for attendees who need a sensory break or a place to decompress.
-
Gender-Neutral Bathrooms: When choosing a space, we prioritize venues that allow gender-neutral bathroom options.
-
Service animals: Service animals are allowed. If you need aisle access for the animal, we can reserve that for you as well.
-
Lactation Room: We prioritize finding a venue that has an on-site lactation room with a locking door and electrical outlet for nursing parents.
-
Accessible Materials: We will do our best to provide presentation materials in accessible formats, such as tagged PDFs or large print, upon request.
